In AllhiheyAll Various Artists wants to use the automatisms of others to produce works of art, to use the energy of the participants while mapping their behavior.
VA asks them to wear a hermetically sealed apparatus or to ride around with
it for a certain duration. In some cases, the courier has no exact knowledge of the contents of the package and he / she must therefore trust the artist. The instruments are envelopes, boxes or tubes with different drawing mechanisms
as content. Each mechanism has its own timetable, so that the device can be recalled after a certain period of time (this varies from 1 day to 1 year, depending on the specific needs of the drawing) and the application can be dismantled. The artwork - once unveiled - is scanned, numbered, signed and finally sent back to the person who performed the work.
We could expect that the unconscious movements of carriers are commonplace and related. But unconsciously (similar to our online behavior), our movements vary greatly. The instrument that is lent to the wearer thus becomes a measuring device that detects the smallest variations in their behavior and - although in an abstract way - makes a graphical interpretation of their movements.
In times when all kinds of data are collected without our consent, the project touches the boundaries between author and producer. Despite the fact that
the draftsman ( m / v / x ) technically makes the drawing, Various Artists is the original author of the work. But in AllhiheyAll the performer remains the owner of his own data and thereby becomes the collector of the artwork.
Allhiheyall tackles the economic system of the regular art market by offering art free of charge to the carriers and making the audience complicit in the process of creating the work by proposing a shared authorship / ownership deal. It raises questions about the usually precarious situations in which artists find themselves to validate their work economically. The project serves as a start-up in which
a first quality-conscious approach to a clientele is created without creating financial value.
