First appeared as Intrudor in the early nineties, later named after a German garageman.
Armin Turing (°1973, Munich, Germany) is an artist who mainly works with performance.
By approaching the subject through creative means, Turing constructs long-term complex works, upon which his thoughts on privacy and security are being made clear. His performances are based on the principle of stalking. Again and again, the artist leaves us behind with a mix of conflicting feelings and thoughts. By experimenting with intrusive processes, he defines the coincidental and emphasises the conscious process of composition that is behind the quasi-methodical works.
The Mail Art pieces (China Cincinnati and Canacona) which are considered private, highly subjective and unfiltered in their references to personal details, are presented as assemblages, installations, and publications. Armin Turing currently lives and works in Dubrovnik.
